The Trendiest Hardwood Flooring Ideas For The New Year

Proudly Serving Dallas, Fort Worth & Surrounding Areas For Over 50 Years

Designers have to turn out new ideas all the time and the 2019 styles for interior design are already here. Presumably, they release these styles before the year even starts to give you a leg up on getting ahead of the styles and looking super chic. If you’re looking for the best Christmas gift you could give yourself, you’ve found it: trendy, new hardwood floors that both bolster your house’s value in Dallas while improving your standard of living. Check out the trends we’ve collected so that you can take advantage of the best looking flooring ideas this side of 2019.

Color in Simple Terms

Color hasn’t expanded much to include other tones this year; it’s merely expanded to include various tonesty in one floor to create dimension. High variation in flooring design has become popular. With a variety of whitewashed and honey-colored woods you can get a different and multi-dimensional floor without having to invest in a more expensive and interesting looking design. In fact, the trend now features greys and honeys together along with dark greys with espresso colored woods. Other colors that are coming back include blonde and whitewashed wood like arctic oaks. You can select these hues in solid designs or more varied, contrasting tones. Whatever way you go, you’ll find most wood colors are looking sharp and dramatic in their color extremes, there’s no middle ground anymore.

More Texturizing

Industrial stylization has inspired distressed looks everywhere. We think it’s extremely stunning on hardwood flooring as it hints at the longevity and tenacity of the flooring material while enhancing the natural beauty effortlessly. Our favorite is the hand-scraped and smoothed look as it’s simplistic and down to earth, but wire brushed and distressed flooring is also on the rise, especially with the public’s new affinity for reclaimed hardwood flooring. We would offer a word of caution though, that you should pick either texturizing your new flooring, or choosing high variations of color. Dark, espresso colored wood grain can look mesmerizing with a bit of texturizing, but if it’s got whitewashed looks in the midst of the design, you aren’t adding visual interest anymore, you’re just making it look overwhelming. Keep it unique, but don’t overdo it.
