Trophy Club, Texas. This unusually-named city on the shores of Grapevine Lake was the first “master-planned community” in Texas, and centers around the 36 holes of golf that snake through beautifully wooded neighborhoods. Launched first as simply a rural getaway for executives and retirees, this city boasting over a thousand acres of parkland has turned into a lodestone of a residential community for the successful. As their motto states, it’s a “Great Place to Call Home.” Trophy Club has hardwood flooring installation service provided by Texas Hardwood Flooring, the best in professional flooring in the Metroplex.
European settling of the area began in 1847 with the Peters Colony, as it did with so many North Texas communities. And it accelerated in the 1880’s with the construction of the first southern transcontinental railroad, the Texas & Pacific line, which ran through the area. Modern-day Trophy Club began in the 1970’s when a Ft. Worth law firm convinced golf immortal Ben Hogan to design a course for a new country club. The town’s curious name came because the clubhouse was intended to house Hogan’s extensive collection of PGA trophies (the golfer won 64 tournaments, including nine majors!). One of the courses is named after Mr. Hogan, and another is named for Kathy Whitworth, the LPGA great who is a Trophy Club resident. Though originally part of the Westlake ETJ, the city voted for independent incorporation in 1985.
The first thing that drew commuters was Trophy Club’s excellent location, which offers quick access to both DFW and Alliance airports as well as the corporate campuses in the Metroplex. What has developed also is a community that provides close-knit neighborhoods, opportunities for civic participation in clubs, town advisory groups, schools and churches. The schools of Northwest Independent School District are anchored by the highly acclaimed Byron Nelson High School, completed in 2009 and named after another local golfing great.
The influx of wealthy residents has encouraged the development of excellent restaurants and retail venues in a small-town atmosphere that features one of the lowest crime rates around. The city encourages the influx of new businesses into town, and these companies benefit from a prosperous consumer population. Trophy Club is proud of its wide range of home choices, and these homes are served for all their hardwood flooring installation needs by the venerable Texas Hardwood Flooring company, a three-generation company serving DFW for over five decades.
Trophy Club is known for its many opportunities for recreation, including, of course, rounds of golf, but also beautiful walking/biking trails, a disc golf course, a community swimming pool and Splash Park, tennis courts, a dog park, and numerous well-kept fields for baseball, soccer and football. This vital and burgeoning city of nearly 10,000 is truly a “Great Place to Call Home.” Contact our team for the best local hardwood flooring installation services!
