Frisco, Texas began its life as a watering hole for covered wagons and cattle drivers on the old Shawnee Trail (aka Preston Road, aka state Hwy 289). It remained a sleepy small town until around 1990, when growth began and has continued at a gold rush pace ever since. That year the population was around 6,000. Today Frisco is home to 160,000 folks, and numerous publications have called it one of the best places to live in the US.
Texas Hardwood Flooring is busy year-round installing new hardwood flooring in this thriving community.

The Incredible Growth of Frisco, Texas
Frisco, interestingly, has developed a “new” downtown just a mile west of the original downtown of yore. The magnificent new City Hall is there with its attendant offices and the public library, and it is surrounded by a handsome development featuring great wining and dining venues. However, the “old” downtown has not been forgotten, and has municipal encouragement for revitalization and commercialization of those classic Texas plains buildings.
It certainly is a great place to raise a family. The independent school district has grown at a rate of six new schools a year, from four in 1989 to 68 now. Whole neighborhoods have sprung up practically overnight, with houses that need hardwood flooring installation. The local government is pledged to being a family-friendly city, not only with their schools, but also with their vibrant commitment to parks and recreation projects. They have built a mind-boggling state-of-the-art athletic center (with a delightful water park). These are a couple of reasons that “Men’s Journal” called Frisco the “best place to raise an athlete” in the country!
Sports are a centerpiece of this burgeoning metropolis; the list of sports-related projects is startling. Frisco hosts one of the most charming of minor league baseball parks, featuring the Frisco Roughriders, (Texas – AA). Toyota Stadium, in the new downtown, is a soccer-specific facility, where the MLS team FC Dallas plays its home games there, but the stadium is also used for high school football, concert events, and hosts the annual NCAA FSC football championship game. As part of the complex, the new home of the National Soccer Museum is under construction.
Beyond that, the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys have recently made Frisco their corporate headquarters, and the Texas Tornado hockey team and the Texas Legends basketball team (development teams for the Stars and Mavericks, respectively) play their games at the 10,000 seat Dr. Pepper Arena.
Culture has not been forgotten, however. The city has over 70 installations of public art sponsored by the civic administration. The Frisco heritage Center is a park housing the Heritage Museum, with its historic buildings and the like. The Frisco Discovery Center has a state of the art black box theater, a science and tech center, an art gallery, and the National Videogame Museum, where one can actually play some of the classics from the early days of gaming. At the Discovery Center, you might catch the Frisco Community Theater, the Children’s Theatre, the Institute of Global Music and Arts and the Frisco Improv Players.
